Hey Rosetta!

Hey Rosetta! is six people and a slew of instruments making all sorts of beautiful sounds in downtown St. John's. After moving home from Montreal in the spring of 2004, Tim decided he was tired of playing his songs alone. He enticed five other starry-eyed half-wits to join him in creating a massive and unique sound, putting meat and paint onto his strong, yet skeletal poetry and music. David E was pulled under by the prospect and plays drums and webman. Adam plays a tasty riff and rhythm guitar, and also carries lots of heavy gear. Josh creates muscular and melodic basslines of such potency that he needn't do anything else--although he arranges the odd string part and doles out charm like he invented the shit. Ariane teases lines of precision and intensity from her violin, and Tiffany makes her cello bleed--in rock and in requiem. This band works, and more importantly plays, with a fervour and a passion and a patience and a love you cannot ignore.

EP TRT024 $10 The band was only formed two months before this EP was recorded at Steve Miller's place by Bowring Park in the west end of St. John's. We spent half a week getting half this debut record down. The latter half is live tracks from a sweaty ol' show at the Ship Pub downtown. Enjoy! -Tim Baker, Hey Rosetta!
